Did you know that many people believe the moon can impact humans similarly to how it influences the tides on Earth? The idea is that since it affects other life forms like coral and other organisms, and considering humans are 50-75% water, why wouldn't it affect us as well?
Such beliefs are reflected in sayings like, "It's a full moon, people are acting strange." The term "lunacy" originates from attributing the moon to variations in human behavior, becoming more or less erratic and aggressive based on the moon phase.
Personally, I've always felt a strong connection with the moon.
Scientifically, there isn't a lot of evidence to support these ideas, and existing studies offer conflicting results. However, there's a wealth of anecdotal evidence suggesting phenomena like more births occurring during the full moon, more daytime births during the new moon, and variations in sleep patterns during different moon phases.
If you're wondering about potential symptoms during full or new moons and the phases of the moon, here's a brief overview. There are eight phases of the moon: new moon, waxing crescent, first quarter, waxing gibbous, full moon, waning gibbous, third quarter, and waning crescent.
The full and new moon phases are the most intense and might have you feeling fatigued, energized, irritable, or inspired. The specific effects depend on your relationship with the moon and the sign the moon is in.
Spiritually, the moon and its phases can present opportunities for growth and manifestation. The full moon is a time for reaping rewards, gaining clarity, and seeing things come to fruition. It's associated with Yang in the Yin-Yang concept. The new moon, on the other hand, is often seen as a time for fresh starts, new beginnings, and reflection—representing the Yin.
The other phases represent the journey and cycle that the moon goes through to become full and new again, which is why their effects might not be as noticeable.
The moon's constant changes and flows resonate with the ebbs and flows of human life, which is one of the reasons I find it so fascinating.
If you think I'm crazy or if you simply don't believe me, try this for two weeks, or a month if you're feeling ambitious. Pay attention to the moon phase and observe how you feel during each phase.
